Hematite. Smelt it for iron, I imagine.

All the other stone types have had their proper names displayed though. Not "white stone" "brown stone" ect. ect. Why would hematite be named black ore?

Beats me but that's the only black stone that I can think of, unless it's something like obsidian.

It's probably some magical ritualistic stone. Smelt it for dank memes.

well, in legacy every metal was from the same ore, so we probably have multiple ore colors, with each color belonging to multiple metals

Given the general rock naming & what not I'd imagine you can smelt it down for nuggets. Make metalworking more possible early on possibly?
