The Rippity Hermits Thread

Boy, I feel sorry for you if you are a hermit.

1. Hearthfire in front of a cave was always the way to start and be moderately safe
good game bats ¦]

2. Advanced groups got their palisades up, meanwhile hermits still working on Yeomanry, and now they cannot hide in caves, and they have no palisades, the mats to build one now are no joke.
good game updates ¦] (In a couple days when more people have rage/theft etc good game again)

3. Any bugs advanced groups are using to kill animals etc are *Only* being fixed, the racks on racks of bear hides acquired illegally *before* they report the bugs remain. And they get rewarded.
good game bug fixes ¦] Enjoy animals being harder and harder to kill and progression being slowed to a halt, while they keep ill gotten gains.

So basically, Jorb and loftar are telling you to quit their game if you are a hermit, save yourself the trouble now, instead of dying here in the upcoming future, it isn't your fault, the game is being tailored against you and to the benefit of the no life groups.

-someone not a hermit, but I feel your pain.

It's not like you are hindered by not being able to do anything other players have been able to do. If you walk far enough away people stop being a problem, get yeomanry and it becomes even harder for people. You can hunt just like they do as well it really isn't hard

I think you are a bit lost, are you saying one hermit should have been able to keep up with a hardcore group at the same time?

"they have no palisades, the mats to build one now are no joke."

>.> Literally the exact requirements from that last game. Yeah a couple people got a headstart, but it was considered balanced back then and it's balanced now.

Or do you really want random nubs with palisades built around their HFs and pally's in front of every gate? They were that cheap.

Hunting isn't forgiving to solo players. If you're a casual hermit your best bet to hunt is to work with your neighbors and friends, otherwise you're restricted to bats, foxes, mouflon, bunnies, and chickens until you become stronk. Well, unless you're really quick and a little lucky then you can fight everything but horses. Bats are a bit ridiculous right now but I'd rather crazy new content be added to the game and be tweaked than to get no new content. Likewise, bug fixes happen but you're suggesting the preferred alternative is to keep bugs in the game and let large groups overwhelmingly capitalize on them and continue to exploit them? Or instead you want to nuke and kill anyone who benefits from a bug, thus incentivizing them to never report bugs?

Seriously, I'm trying to gather your points but they're really shortsighted. 'It'd be better to nuke the world than to let anyone have a mild leap above players they had leaps and bounds on already.' Is what I gather.

That said it's seriously not hard to make bone glue or rope. I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying it is? You need a little bit for the first corner post and then after that you've got as much wall as you want.

Having played in advanced villages before, and playing solo this time around... You're pretty much fucked if an advanced set of players wants to poop on your chest anyway. Also all of the listed problems can be super easily overcome.

By day II I could have put a palisade up and began the fun grind. Shit is easier to get up now than it was in the past even with update. All you need is 10 expl and you're a hermit-gathering-machine with a boat so all of a sudden hunting/gathering becomes an easy chore.

Besides hunting is still easy. Beat shit to death with your hands. Use rivers to your advantage and collect more shit than you need. Bows are cheap, arrows cheaper, & bone glue damn well near the value of dirt. If people have trouble doing that on their own then they have more to worry about than the cost of resources.

Inb4 1shot fox kill nerf.

The main villages are always at an advantage they always have been. More people, more time, means a lot in this game. Living on your own is never easy anyway. You haft to do everything and that takes time.
