Signature image size

Can I ask why the image size limit is 32? I was absent during the time this happened and I'm just wondering why.

Because it is. I would think it had something to do with the forums so one would not have one so big that people had to go to next page just to see the next post.

This image size restriction is killing me... 400 width/200 height would be perfect.

Dunno, loftar coded it into the forums not too long ago. I imagine the size set was arbitrary and it came in response to longstanding complaints against the old huge images.
