Can you see the moose?

Here's the moose in "Media" section:


I'm pretty sure i've seen them on the second day of this world. I'm even quite sure i've killed one.
However i've never seen them since that day. They're afraid of me now and hiding? Whatta?

I've tried to search in every biome, i've tried to find them on the forums (last seen moose was a deer in 2010).
