So i made a bot/macro today, combat needs to be fixed

Postby maze » Mon Sep 21, 2015 7:18 pm

so the bot/macro is simple

when i press "1" then "left click" my program looks for [chop] on my bar and uses it asap

when something else aggros me; my program looks for [quick dodge] or [Feigned Dodge] and uses that.

Current with whom I'm given this program...they seem to be going on murdering spree. Enjoy my russian friends.

my problem is that fact that if you dont have player radar, anyone can easyly sneek up to you and on top of that with this new bot/macro. anyone under 250hp or not wearing armor will die.

can J&L please put in some kinda counter measure before my Russian buddys go global?

Maybe passive skills that start up on combat or something. thats what i wanna discuss.

Why do your friends need a bot to look through 5 icons :/

If you've fought in melee then you know that there's a moment of delay between entering combat and your eyes registering your combat moves as they move around. Sure this can be solved by simplifying your deck but even reducing it to just 5 cards is very limiting (personally I have ~7 skills I'd like to cycle through but I'm a scrub so what do I know). Eliminating this delay means, effectively, a free opening move that your opponent can't defend against or punish with human reaction times.

A possible fix for this might be to allow players to choose one defensive card to start off any battle with. Or, one offensive card instead, but not both offensive and defensive.

7 cards is good you don't risk getting into having all attacks cards and dieing a sad death without being able to defend yourself.

Macros will always be faster in combat. The delay of a person switching to their combat bar will be slower. Even if they're already on thag bar, they'll take time to react, but at least they'd know for sure where their moves are.

"Looks like I better jump! That's, uh... 4 *PUNCH* FUCK! Why was there no fifth card?!"

who ever lets a guy with a sword do this anyway lol

the horse thing is a good point, since its hard to aggro someone on a horse this makes it a big deal.

that delay isn't really important for this apart from the horse thing, by the time they get close enough i've already aggroed them. And if they queue chop into my block they just messed up, since chops cooldown is so long... Moving close to another player has always been an aggressive move, this makes it mildly worse... apart from the horsey, which you're right makes it a big problem.

ps: I like Kaios idea, except make it any 2 cards you like (I would like 2 defensive).

Why not just add a forced cooldown at the start of combat, maybe influenced by agility, so both combatant have a window where they can choose their first move. Not sure how it would work for animals though..

What about the essential invulnerability of a properly armoured opponent against anything currently in?

"fight back, you're being chased on a horse"

What's the point when you literally cannot damage an enemy who has bronze armor :P
