Haven should be the game about being a pirate

Seriously, instead of the one land a huge Archipelago of islands. Villages can develop docks and build different classes of ships, you can only live on a ship for example and sail around. Larger ships need would need cooperation of few people to work sucessfuly, sea fights and land forts with cannons, abordage and stuff.

Lolno, but I do agree we needed an ocean, maybe a few islands and bigger ships.

I know thats propably not how a map gen works but it would be cool if instead of deleting the world on wipe,they would simply add another bigass island seperated by ocean and put the new starting area here :shock:

I've never really liked loftar's map generation, it's just a mishmash of blobs that borderline triggers my trypophobia.

Hafen Ocean DLC expansion pack next year for the low low price of $40 when?

An ocean would suck because boats suck. Anything involving boats is pants on head stupid.

You think oceans would be all cool and IMMERSIVE but then you go into one and realize it's more boring than walking through the forest.

Unless there's a massive update for a bunch of sea monsters and forageables, oceans would never be fun.

I'm happy with the game being primarily about land, but I wouldn't oppose an ocean border to the world with features incorporated into it.

Though I do love anything that has to do with pirates, i wouldn't want haven to go that way. Instead, why not develop what we have? Seafaring was important in the norse civilization, on which the game is based, as i can assume from the mythology. I'd totally use a drakkar instead of this small boat we've got.

I certainly hope continents and ships will be added some day, providing a viable way of trading between port towns.
Also, as long as you can board other ships, pirating will happen whether people like it or not, no need for cannons or any other overly complicated mechanics.

Sounds like a great idea for a new MMO...

let's keep Haven as Haven & Hearth, not "Pirates & Pillaging"... wait, that doesn't work because it already is that... umm... "Sailing and Seamanship"... yeah, that's better!
