If you have the stats to tank a bear, it's fairly easy to drive it into a cliff and just play bear pong.
Annoying, but effective.

I have just followed a freaking bear for half my region and came home empty handed. Started to starve after so much running - but it's pointless. They're as fast as we are, it aggros and runs away before I get to it.
Had to go home because I was freaking starving after so much running... no dead ends around, no hunting then? That is just lame...

Jorb, Loftar, it's nice to see the cheesy hunting tricks being removed... but proper hunting stuff should be added. How is one supposed to hunt without cheesy tricks or dead ends? Even if I was strong enough to beat it into submission, it's pointless to pursue them because they're faster on most terrains, they walk over water like Jesus... lol

Should've stocked myself some bear while boxing was a thing.

Hunting a badger, manage to find a clif where he would NEVER get up (rounded clif, no way to get up without climbing like the character does), hit it with an arrow, he starts to run, I start the chase, he runs into water, I give up!

About get a horse thing:

1 - if you dismount the horse, he'll go away.
2 - if you try to shoot from a horse, you'll most likelly hit your own horse and he'll turn against you!

Hunting in haven became more like casual finding a perfectly suitable place to kill a creature (grass land everywhere, no water anywhere near), than hunting itself.
