Very Low FPS

Postby Trev » Sun Nov 01, 2015 2:19 am

I am experiencing very low FPS (like 3 - 7) while playing the new version of Haven.
I don't seem to be having any network issues, as my ping seems really good ingame, just very choppy animations.
I have tried a few things, but require some assistance in finding my issue.

What I Have Done
- Allocated more RAM to the game
- Set Java as a higher priority
- Defragged my PC
- Disabled Catalyst A.I.
- Tried Default Client / Amber Client / Shovel Client / Enders Client
- Updated Java to the latest version (Yes, i am running 64bit Java on a 64bit machine)
- Updated my graphics card

FPS/Render Data
Rendered - 754 + 7 (150)
FPS - 11 (75% , 74% idle)

I've heard that AMD does not really like Haven by reading several other threads.
Yes, this laptop doesn't have the best specs (my desktop is down currently), but I can run League of Legends, Legacy HnH, and other larger games with no FPS issues at all.

Computer Specs
Processor - AMD Athlon II Dual-Core M300
Video Card - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series
Installed Memory (RAM) - 4.00
System - 64bit Windows 7

Meh the ram is fine, hafen only uses up less than a gig.

His CPU thoough is kind of low tier.

I realize 4GB of RAM is low, but it should be sufficient for this game.

Back when I was playing Salem I didn't have any issues at all, and it's most likely pretty comparable as far as "system requirements".

I had same problem on AMD R7 265m
What i did:
Removed all Java related programs , then installed Java 7 64bit (probably it has library for dual video cards) and downloaded Java 8 64bit (because if you gonna update with Java updater it can update somehow to 32 bit Java 8) from site and updated without unistalling Java 7, now i have 20fps in a village and 60 outside :P
w5 Hermit>Road Ville>Horde>RQ
w6 The Sparta
w7 Isla de la tortuga>A.D>CookieVille (not sure if it was w7 or w6)
w8 Amish Paradise
w9 Amish Paradise
w10 Amish Paradise > Maid Cafe (until april 2017)
w11 Funcy Huts
w12 :P

I don't think that should be a problem, though. In this case, I'm more inclined to think it might actually be the GPU; a Radeon HD 4200 is far more trash than 4 GB RAM is.

Even then, though, even my crappy laptop with Ironlake graphics, which is, by every imaginable measure, far more crappy, manages to push 12+ FPS, so it doesn't seem that should be the issue either.

I can't say I know where that leaves the question, though. However, at any time you post about performance issues, you should at least post the "Rendered" and "FPS" lines from the client stats. (Run the ":stats on" console command.)
