Yes, Haven also has inheritance where you claim the personal claim of your old character and you can also loot their body without theft. Burying them will provide some stats and skills back.

It's very disingenuous to call this game a crafting mmo. While you will be crafting items most of what you'll be doing is keeping yourself and your possessions safe. This is a survival mmo, even if it at times feels like 'Eating Food: The Game.'
You develop and progress your character to handle both PvE and PvP threats. You craft armor to keep yourself alive, gather metals to build stronger walls and weapons, farm to secure reliable food sources for filling yourself up and improving your stats. Ultimately, if you manage to stay alive and accomplish your goals then you've done pretty well at the game.
Most people seek out to create a thriving village full of farms, metalworks, cattle, and other industry. Others seek out players to raid, rob, and kill. The end goal is what you make it.
