Is there any benefit to use sling over a bow? I think i read something about easier to aim? But the damage is lower?

The way I see it:
1. Lower damage, faster fire-rate
2. Cheaper ammunition. Arrows needs Strings, and early game there's a huge need of Strings for lots of crafts.
3. Maybe easier to craft a higher Q sling early game?

considering a sling needs leather i doubt it's gonna be any higher quality early on (unless you find a random carcass)

Hm, might be worth trying out though - but for hunting I see little benefit over the bow - unless you're strong enough to do melee.
Or - you do the cliff-pathfinding "bug".

I think its the opposite. Its much easier to get good leather than it is to get good materials for a bow. Some animals have a stupidly high quality.

Also, slings can function reliably when shot out of boats, unlike bows.

That's especially important in our current Water World

Sling is OP for hunting. You can hit bears with 12 MM from other side of river and shoot rapid fire of 30 dmg hits

You could also shoot it straight out of the boat, as mentioned above.

Makes tracking the bear down easier

I hit 99% of times from that distance.
Cant shoot out of boat.
Tried it little bit before and stones didnt even fly off the boat. They just disappeared.
