Perks to Haven and Hearth Playing

Postby Ysh » Tue Apr 05, 2016 4:31 pm

Hello to all you friends for another time! I have some topic I would enjoy your weight inside of.

A few years ago I take some SAT examinations to get to the university program. They have some essay topic and I have a write on my essay about this game the Haven and Hearth. I call it as a ''political simulator'' and do tell them about some failed commie village I was in before. I think that since the Red Scare communism is not a popular systems in my country, so the man to grade this essays will think ''yes, student, you can stick this to those pinko bastards!'' I have received a high mark for this one. This lets me go to a good university and buy a strong degree for job getting.

What have been some best things that have happened to you in your real live because of your Haven and Hearth play? What is some perks to the Haven and Hearth payers? I am interested in your stories. Thanks to you for the consideration.

Hearth and Hearth gave up a life; it saved mine. I have an incident that could have resulted in my actual death.

As I was waking up and powering on my computer with cell nearby, I heard an odd repeating sound to my left where my fences are. I wasn't aware that anything was wrong but decided to check around to be safe. Upon looking at part of my backyard, I didn't hear anything. However, my position put me near a location of a distinct sound of something smashing against glass near the master bedroom. Alert, I rushed to the sound of where I heard it and saw the silouette of someone striking at the glass sliding door with an iron poker or crowbar (couldn't see detail).

At that point, my body reacted entirely on its own independent from my mind, rushing towards the alarm panel about 8 steps away and activated the alarm for the police (the one with the police badge icon) before rushing into my room, grabbing my cell phone, rushing into the bathroom, locking it, ducking under the bathtub keeping my head down, called 911, and then called my parents to alert them, all without missing any time. Presumably the would-be burglars had been scared off by the alarm.

How did Haven and Hearth come into play in this? From world 3-5, I was combat focused, and with the profession I was forced to dealing with fear upon facing a perilous situation. Overtime, experience has helped me overcome this, or numb it on an instinctive level so that it does not override my decision making. In the same scenario, I was able to numb my fear when the burglars were about to break-in and did everything almost optimal to the situation. Had I let me fear take me over, I may not have performed the actions on time or even something foolish, with a fairly high chance of me getting seriously injured or even killed.

Unknown but unless there were witnesses from my neighborhood, I doubt that they were caught for that incident. My instinctive priority was my safety so I had no time to consider how to catch them.

Also there were 2-3 of them. Far too many for me to fend off practically. Even 1 would be risky, despite my intermediate martial arts background.

So they have a run away when they are hearing the alarm sounds? That would be fine to me, I think. I am glad to not have to be in a situations like this myself.

I like to think that games like this, or any game where I assume somewhat of a leadership / decision making position, it tempers my personality.

Not going to lie, i'm not a peoples person. I do social communication and I do it well, but i'm an introvert and prefer to stay away from people all together.
Sometimes those streaks make it so that my personality takes some shifts.
Now that i've taken my hands at recruiting and village management, I have to work with people. My patience has taken some blows, I had to deal with some situations i'd rather not (I hate to tell people no, especially if they've good intent), and then there's decision making.

So apart from giving me that feeling of learning something new, that I enjoy, I like to think that games that involve such intricate social interactions, show up the flaws in my personality.
Which I can then work on.

Currently I took a two day break from the game, because something really flared my anger and got my tits in a knot.
Now, tomorrow i'm going to go back in, and deal with it head on, and in a reasonable manner. Something I tend to eschew, but I know is necessary for me to be able to play the game in a fun way again.

For my twitch reflexes, strategic, tactical and quick thinking, I tend to prefer league of legends. (and testing and trying my patience more than anything really xP ;D )
Martial arts also helps with that, plus a sense of calm and satisfaction.

The last two points might not be on topic, but things you do in life should compliment one another, making you a wholesome person i'd say. :)
There is no reason video games can't be more than just a timewaste, if you use the stimuli it gives you properly ^_^

You make some good seeing here I think. People who will be drawn to this game seem to be with tendency for anti-social behavioring. It can be good to give us some outlets for the social cooperation.

Though I must disagree on the other point, Dota is the ASSFAGGOTS I will choose to play.

And naturally yes, there can be some to learn from any activity worth doing. People can gain from such self reflection.

You should have teleported behind them and slashed them with your katana.

No reason to make that situation personnel. I think even if you can fight, it is probably better to not if you can do it.

Sorry, I am playing a permadeath game called real life. I need to play cautiously.
