The Tale of Fort Nope

The Tale of Fort Nope.

We started making our little homestead just between a river and a large lake. It was a small little settlement and seemed perfectly fine to us. After meeting multiple locals they all told us to move away from the water because it was to dangerous to live so close to the water. They also told us of a village nearby that would possibly raid us. We weighed the pros and cons of moving further away from the water. We were very hesitant because of how much work it would take to move. Heck lets just stay here and see what happens. That was fine until later that night. We had a break in. They didn't steal or break much but that was what decided it for us. We were moving. We picked a spot and started building a palisade. Took me a long time to build it but once it was finished I got to work on the new timber house and the gardens. Spent a good three days moving things over from the old homestead to the new more secure palisade. I thought being robbed sucked, that was just the first of many issues to arise this week. My husband came home from work and I showed him my progress on our new settlement. He thought it was great and of course complimented me on my hard work. He said it looked pretty secure and asked if I had put locks on the gate. Of course I hadn't really messed with locks before so I said not yet and started to make one. I made the lock and installed it.. Then thinking I was being smart, I made slave keys and left the master key hidden within the base. That's what I was told was the best thing to do by many people I had met so far. Oh I forgot to mention that I hadn't moved my hearth fire into the new settlement yet. :P Being super tired I forgot that slave keys don't work on the outside of the gate :P I locked myself out of our settlement. So Stranded outside of my own settlement I asked a neighbour if they could help me out with a ram. My neighbour was happy to help out but couldn't help till the next day. :P So I waited. The next day my neighbour came over and build a battering ram infront of my gate, but we had to wait for 24 hours for the glue to dry. I would be able to get in Tuesday evening. Tuesday afternoon I check on the ram and it is ready to use. Sweet. But Guess what! The update rolled out and now Rams take damage with each hit and require brimstone to repair and build them... I tried to hit the wall with the ram and after two hits the ram is broken. Dang it. Now we have to make a Wrecking ball wait 24 hours and try again. YAY! Each step of the way this Settlement has been saying Nope. I hereby declare the name of the Homestead is now Fort Nope. :P

I will update you all when I finally get in. :P

Good Night all and happy havening!

Lol, oh dear, a truly unfortunate series of events!

You seem to be taking it all pretty well ... :)

Good luck with getting back in! :D

Oh, I'm taking it well :P because that's life. May as well laugh at the hard times and enjoy it when it gets easy.

Ah, well. At least you KNOW where your master key is and HAVE it. It could be worse. You could have dropped it in the water. ;)

Still, my sympathies. I wish you best of luck breaking into your pali! And I welcome a husband and wife team!

UPDATE!!!

Okay so waited the 24 hours, but since the wrecking ball feature is brand new of course we set it up facing the wrong direction. We had to disassemble it and wait another 24 hours. I will have to wait another day to hopefully get back into Fort Nope. Here's hoping I do. :P

Dev's if you are reading this, you almost made a not so little girl cry today. :P I hope your happy.
All things considered I still love this game, Thanks for working so hard on it. :D

How do you know it is facing the right way? I want to learn from your mistakes so I don't waste a week camping in my hemp field.

There are little wedges that are on the legs of the Wrecking ball stand and they have to be on the opposite side of what you want to hit with the wrecking ball.
