Questions about Legacy Haven

Postby Salad » Wed Apr 27, 2016 12:22 am

Hey there

I'm a bit new here and I've had some thought about buying a verification strictly on the grounds that i'd like to try out Legacy Haven

Would you say at this point it'd be worth it for me to buy the verification for the interest of Legacy Haven alone, Or perhaps I should look to get more invested into the current version of the game?
I really have enjoyed the game so far, but prefer the visuals of Legacy a lot more than the current version.

Secondly, i've seen that you'll have access for "as long as it lives" is there any real estimate as to how long they'd have Legacy Haven kicking around? or have they thought about selling off Legacy or making it into it's own project?

Third and foremost, I'd like to ask about the liveliness of the community on Legacy, how many people are actually playing on there? would you consider it to be decent compared to the current version of Haven?

I'm not sure where I should place this, So i'm sorry if I've put this in a bad spot.

Hope everyone can get me a bit more informed about Legacy, as i'm really interested in it.

EDIT: I appreciate the feedback thus far, I may buy a verification in the future once I've gotten to get to know more about Haven, but I think for now i'm going to stick to free to play.

The only real complaints I have with the current Haven are completely on aesthetic grounds. If Legacy is that far behind compared to today's version, I will probably never look into buying a verification for the purpose of looking into Legacy for a long period.

Thanks for the info though, really appreciate it.

No one plays on legacy, only reason you should play it is for the nostalgia. There's very few things that are better in legacy compared to the current version.

Legacy will (as far as I got it from statements of jorb) most likely last till the world gets corrupted (server hit by cosmic ray and eats the map), new world for it chance is zero, bugs will not be fixed, no support, no updates.

You'll most likely be alone there, so in case you like to Farmville...

I do not think this is worth this. New game is better in most ways and will only get better when time goes on.

I do not think estimate for this exists. I know devs want to shut down legacy as quick as they can do so without people doing much complains.

I can't say. I can only assume it will have less players.

only way to play legacy is if you know a how to redo a custom client because nothing I have tried has worked. so in my case it was a waist of money but also I will add legacy has a lot of stuff that was cool if I could play it I would prob play it hafe the time and the new one. but unless you know how to recode I would just do the new one

I play legacy so i can tell you the world is very empty so you won't meet anyone very soon ... people that get in newly use to quit very fast ... only real active people seem to be some in a group that like to bash and ram in everywhere if active or inactive except for those which do look low level ... and they have a lot of crossroads at hand to port around everywhere ( yes i know your places ;) )

So i really can recommend Legacy just for getting a glimpse on the basics first to switch over later (as lots of gamemechanics are close to new one) ... unless you want to "farmville" (drop a crate then outside to show your posession of low q crops so you might not getting bothered )

I don't think Legacy code gets sold or made open source as there's to much knowledge in it ... even if i'd like to get my hands on to run a dedicated
