Is this even fair?

Postby r3uvn » Tue May 31, 2016 8:21 pm

So yesterday I killed my alt and decided to make an ancestor of that alt. After spawning in the world after inheriting my alt's stats, I spawned somewhere random in the world (apparently you don't spawn by your alt's hearth fire? I guess the mechanic doesn't work that way anymore?). I end up spawning right next to a big village, and then I rage after not spawning at my village. Later out of boredom, I attempt to communicate with the villagers who appear to be logged in but are all logged out and their char is in the world because they have recently committed a crime. Anyways, I decide to log out. I log back in a day later just for fun and see this

Yes, I know this has probably been discussed in the community before. Yes, I know this will probably not be fixed. Yes, it is kind of funny

But I just feel bad for all the people starting the game and log back in to see that around the hf and no possible way of getting out.

Inheriting should have spawned you back at your hearth fire. Do you live with anyone else? Did you or they happen to destroy the unlit fire before inheriting? This may have been the cause of your issue.

That is bullshit and should not be allowed. This game, according to the long description of Jorb, is supposed to reflect survival and reality of vulnerability. There are functions in the game that protect your stuff, but this is clearly technological trolling. The tactic is not faithful to the purpose of the game.

Should be unable for build leanto within single tile of other or some thing like this one; like how claim does working.

So, they saw a freshly spawned Hearthfire right near to their base. They contained you in case you were a spy, and offered a dream so you could move your HF somewhere else. You declined the offer and said you're an alt, rendering yourself, at best, expendable (and at worst - a spy). Only then they disposed of you for good.

I think this is as nice and fair as it gets in the Hearthlands.

Some problems with leantos. Will be fixed when we have support for multiple bounding boxes, I guess.
