Discussion on Changing Avatar

So, I like to change my avatar here and there and have a few times on these forums, but at the same time I see people who have had the same avatar for years, ever since I got here at least. Often times, the recognisable avatar is the first thing I notice about a post.

So, what is your guys' opinions on changing profile pictures, on these forums or any other ones? What are the profile pictures you notice the most here? Do you find it preferable for someone to keep the same recognisable avatar for as long as they have their account, or would you rather people switch it up?

For me it's just like it is with my nickname. Sure a have one or two that I use frequently and through all the online projects I get involved into. But I also have project-specific personas I create on the fly, use solely in the game they were created for and leave behind after I'm done with it. I guess what I like in an avatar is it's consistency with owner's character, be it real or make-believe one. Your current avatar is consistent with how you're trying to be on this forum right now? Leave it as it is. Or change it to something that's more or less goes with your persona.

As for people that have an apple clipart for an avatar, then they change it to a photo of smiling hobo, then it's a gif of a falling teapot, then something else completely unrelated to anything... I don't care much for those.

I've used some different avatars, but yeah, it's something people immediately recognize about you.

Profile pictures are kind of like a part of your identity, but changing them up once in a while is always nice

Say like mine currently, It's a picture of my ex's dad, so I might be changing it here soon.

I just love the poor sod's baldy head too much to let it go.

Every user with out forum face is same user to me. They are all anonymous background character.
Changing this forum face is akin as changing face of real man. I do not recommend such unholy procedure.
