The world is too big.

The world is way too big. Right now (at the moment of writing) there are 160 people playing. Take a look at the world map:

Image

People are never going to meet each other. Distances are massive. Realms are just expanding into empty territory, devoid of players. You can travel for hours (real time hours) in a given direction and not meet a single online player.
The world needs to be smaller to force more player interaction.

Actually because of how the rivers connect I can get from the middle of map to an old world edge via rowboat in a matter of 45 minutes to an hour

I actually find alot of people online personally  and they've all been friendly. Usually find them when I'm exploring for resource nodes or pearls. Also, it's more of a timezone thing, during the day, nobodies on, for me at around 11pm people are everywhere.

Size doesn't matter.
Its too big or too small in someones opinion every time.

I like the bigger worlds, it means even when the world is older (like it is now), there is plenty of space that people can settle. The world is not dead given how big it is.

world size is just fine, when they made the world bigger more people seemed to have shown up. I was on the edge of the world alone as a hermit before, after expansion i now am in a village and a kingdom claim. Plenty of people around that will show up depending on where you are.

Right, I realized that the other day but apparently forgot it as quickly again. Thanks!

One might spend more time preparing for the trip than actually travelling. That's what I think about this map.

Just bring back old world size now that we have kingdoms. Larger kingdoms + more resource nodes.
