What happens in Las Havens, stays in Las Havens

This community is way too small to seriously implement anything like this so don't take it way too seriously.

The idea is this. I want you guys to think about funny/unexpected ways to use game mechanics. Imagine big city built solely for the purpose of entertainment. I have a few ideas of my own which I will share as well. This city would be a place you go communicate, have some fun and possibly win or lose some stuff. Again, I don't want you to think about why is this a bad idea or how it's all not going to work, here we focus on games and entertainment ideas.

Here are some of my silly ideas.

"We are going to have to strip search you"
Entrance to Las Havens is a double gate. You come in though the first one which shuts behind your back. There are two chests in front of you. You have empty your inventory together with your equipment to one of them and fill your inventory with stones from the other one. Doorman will check the chests and confiscate any restricted items and confirm that your inventory is filled with rocks. You may then take allowed items back and proceed through the second gates. You're in.

Frog race
Players place their bets and each one is given a frog. You must go to the starting position with your frog in your inventory. When all players are ready, game attendant starts the countdown, which could be either an area chat messages or some other in-game event). When the race starts, everyone must release their frogs. You are allowed to block your frogs way to make sure it doesn't go backwards. The first one to cross the finish line wins and takes the jackpot.

Roulette
12x12 grid is layed with two different colour materials in checkered pattern (2x2 squares). Each player announces his bet in gold coins and passes the full bet amount to one of the dealers. Dealer rolls two dice. Value of the first dice determines the winning row and the second one determines the winning column. Dealer announces winners and pays them off accordingly. You may also bet on odd/even(can be decided by the value of the first dice), red/black or column/row.

Deck of playing cards
For some casino games we need to make up a way to represent a deck of playing cards.
Here is my idea. We agree on four items that would represent a suit. Say, 4 rocks of different colour or any other 4 easily distinguishable objects. The value of a card is represented by item quality. Dealer shuffles the deck and puts it to a stockpile. Stockpile is a deck of cards that a dealer will be dealing from one at a time from the top.

Black Jack
Just one of the card games that could be played with the Deck of Playing Cards.

Staff and charges
Someone will have to attend games, provide security and manage the casino. All those roles must be payed for from commission / door charges.

I would love to hear your suggestions :D

Terrible. Just terrible...

...So terrible I'd spend way too many hours and metal ingots there.

The playing area doesn't necessarily have to be claimed.

I've always thought of opening a cafe or something with that same basic mechanic.
Total misplay.

On further thought: how to deal with item hiding on the cursor possible with custom clients?

You can't move around with item on cursor right? If that's the case, then you wouldn't be able to walk from one chest to another without exposing it.
