So what happen to salem?

Postby strpk0 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 8:52 pm

Title, the website has been down for almost a week now and seemingly the game servers are aswell.
Any ideas what happened over there?

Looks like their domain expired. At very least.

Their host's DNS died or something, should be fixed when the work week starts, meanwhile there are workarounds to get to the forums and to get back ingame as the server hasn't really gone down. For anyone checking here for info rather than the IRC / facebook / wiki, the current workaround forum hostname is http://forum.salem.mortalmoments.com

EDIT: sorry typo on my part, link works now.

It appears the domain name was still owned by Paradox for unknown reasons, and therefore they got no notification that it needed renewal. Hence also why they haven't been able to do anything about it during the weekend, as it seems to have been hard to reach Paradox staff during that time.

In the meantime, http://forum.salem.mortalmoments.com/ has been set up as an alternative name.
