Points of Interest in the Southern Hearthlands

A while ago I moved into the southern part of the map and I noticed that very little happens there. After I left Fire and Ice's kingdom I didn't see anything other than a few farms and hermitages. All of this is great because I never have to worry about being raided or running into any major factions, but I was wondering if there was anything of interest in the South, like villages or trading posts.
