Devs have indeed been taking right steps in order to improve QOL in haven.

if a curio finishes study while you're offline, does it replace the curio with a new curio from the table WHILE you're offline?

Yes it does, it cashes up what you did study when you log in.So if you filled it with cone cows you might have an empty table when you log in and so on lol.

the distance it works from while you're online (or offline too presumably) also seems to be quite far, I was halfway across the map from mine when it filled some curios

Perhaps it's a bit too op in thsi way....maybe it needs a radius, or working only when you are on the claim, etc...i mean, if you are on a journey around the world you should not be able to fill curios....but it's not a big deal cause then you cannot replace more....so it's good even so..
What happen if an alt replace curio on the table?
