2016 Hearthlings choice awards voting: Best developer

Postby xTrainx » Mon Nov 21, 2016 6:44 pm

NOTE: due to how big i just saw how big these threads would get i have decided to split the voting phase in a thread for each category, each contenting the voting site. so as to avoid melting your wheelmouse when trying to read the comments.

hello everyone once again to the first yearly hearthlings choice awards, now that the nominations were made, let's go into selectings the very best of the best this game have to offer. without further delay here are our nominees!

Image
The ones who give it their all to make the game what they truly are, without them, we wouldnt be here today. People have raised their voices and these are the most echoed names!

Jordancoles

probably developed cancer for some people

Blizzard entretainment
Image
Known for their timeless classic, like diablo and starcraft, aswell as their Fresh games, like overwatch and hearthstone, blizzard have always brought something different to the market, and with that inmind, it have inspired many hearthling to seek new and differents things, like a small indie game developed by a 2 man team. Blizzard joins the fight.

ConcernedApe
Image
Have you ever played a game, that offered something, but you always found it lacking, so you always though to yourself "i wish they would add this and that" or maybe "i can do this better"? ConcernedApe took a step on that direction, taking a simple idea stablished by someone else and addind content constantly, making it a better game today than it was yesteday. The perpetual polishing of a single gem is something all hearthlings understands too well. ignore salem

Teleskop

He developed a very charismatic forum personality, worth considering

Tarn Adams
Image
some times, a game is known for their beautiful graphics, sometimes, for their unique controls... sometimes they are known for how much of a masochist you need to be to play it. Tarn adams, co developer of the never dying game Dwarf fortress teached the dev world to not be afraid to make game that might not appeal to everyone or games whose difficulty and /or learning curve is not as flat as every other game, haven and hearth been one of the primary example. Because losing is fun, Tarn Adams joins the vote.

honorable mention
while these people were not nominated, they were still considered for the vote, and deserve at least a mention
Jorb
Image
next time when a lore pops up, when a baby bunny is born, or when a bluebell sings for you, take a moment to appriciate the beuty of it and all that sourrounds you. Jorb, codeveloper of the indie game Haven and hearth, and primary voice of the team on the forums, always strive to give just the right amount of flavor the game needs, and to enchance the user experience, for the last 7 years. Honorable cape awarded to jorb

Loftar
while not as vocal as his parthner, loftar is the first to answer when a technical issue to arise, when a bug is posted on the forum , you can expect him to be there. when a custom client coder have some issue, you can expect him to chip in. When someone ask a question with wrong, or confusing grammer, you might see him there too. Loftar knows the inner working of the game and is always ready for any emerging issue, aswell as what is needed to add that extra something to the game. Floating from point to point, Loftar is coding this game road.

Without further ado, let's get right to the votes!

No offense since my contribution to your other thread was the opposite of useful but there weren't very many nominations and they were all kind of garbage. You didn't set any rules or guidelines, some of the categories could have been better and what are you going to do make a new thread for each one? This also seems like an Inn thing and 5 pages is not a big thread.

this is the first event of it kind, you can say it is like a draft, so i can work on a better system for next year, also, if i hope if people are familiar with this event and know when it will be held next time, instead of just making it out of nowhere like this one, there will be real nominations, and i can set up the nominations rules, and what not. Category wise i couldn't really articulate what categories i would have liked to see, and i feared if people didnt vote in certain categories, the whole thing would end in with 3 categories or less. What i meant with making a new thread for each category is making a new thread for the voting of each category and then, on the awards ceremony, only one thread for the whole thing. i didnt mean big as in the number of pages, but if i put all categories in a single thread, you would wind up with a single post taking over 300 lines

Seems more like inexperience rather than intentional trolling.

Shitposting != trolling.
