lol ill still build nice town to be nice but i think a sturdy place to just get stuff done would be good currently gotta run all over to get crafting and stuff done from one side to other all the time gets annoying, plus nice town is open and all the time people walk off with stuff lol

Saw this thread sometime ago - viewtopic.php?f=40&t=50040&p=658655 . Looking at the base, it looks like stuff still needs to be moved from places to places though.

minigrid 3x3

center being where the charter stone or teleporting is

and then outline it with the community houses

then make an inner wall where u can do tree growing, animals pens, and housing
then make an outter wall and inbetween that ur farm and windmills

This is very safe. No one can see to grey area so you can be in peace. Area that can be seen, orange one. Can be used for tree planting and other stuff that requires lot of space but doesnt require much of walking around.

Dimensions are good for few people. But for bigger villages you have to increase size. Safety can be added by adding palisade segments. like this.
Red lines mean palisade.

If you want plot based village.
This can be made to that also.
Image
Each plot has gate that leads inside the 100x100 public area, and outside.
Very handy!

Do not connect palisade from your outter wall to your innerwall
