When will we be able to play world 10?

So i saw an update on monday about some altar of ruin and the details saying about the world not starting on the 7th is this true?

i we gonna be able to play on the 7th or are they starting the world gen on the 7th after taking down the server?

IM trying to get an exact answer from the devs because im trying to make sure i have no work on that day and a couple days after it so i can enjoy the restart

They said on Jan 7th.... normally they have generated everything at once. So calm down and wait just a few more days.

What's this about? The announcement still says in bold letters that it's starting on the 7th. Has this changed? I'd been re-checking the announcement every now and then assuming it'd get updated if the date were to change, but the listed date never changed.

I think the confusion arises due to the in game msg and the events from when the Altar of Ruin appeared last time in that the objective was to either end the world or save/delay it from ending.

This time around I'm not sure it is actually possible to remove Jorb from the Altar, or even if it is possible it is not intended to affect the new world beginning on the 7th, it's more of an homage to Danis work on the retreat and a bit of interest/fun for everyone before the end.

Also earlier this week someone necro-ed last world prelude thread which made it all a bit confusing if people weren't paying attention on the year of the OP of that thread.

The intention is the 7th, but there may be some variation due to unforeseen factors (like, if the mapgen craps out due to some previously unknown bug after having run for 12 hours).

Have you thought of making (almost) everything ready in 5th or 6th day. So then in 7th day you could just press a button and people would be able to connect to the server with already tested and generated world?
