Hypothetical Talk: What would happen w/ 100,000+ players?

Postby NotJimmy97 » Thu Jan 05, 2017 6:41 am

I've been wondering this a bit lately, considering that we'll probably see a temporary boost in player counts due to the world reset. What would the gameplay of H&H be like if, changing nothing else, 100,000 people started playing on the 8th?

Would people organize into larger factions? Would the world be deforested, flattened, and turned into the Mongolian steppes? What do you guys think it would be like?

Okay, barring the obvious things, like server lag and Jorbtar retiring.

Maybe just consider the 10k pop scenario first lol...

With 100k, the world would be a mess/wasteland.

With 10k, hm... the hearthlands would look a lot more cluttered.... trees chopped down everywhere. Half built bases. Campfires randomly scattered all over.

Considering the amount of boughs needed for your first leanto and house... most players would have trouble even setting up their little camp. XD

More dense villages/cities, trade networks, more profitable to do small tasks and jobs and make your way up than to start from scratch.

Also, forests would be nonexistant, the world would need to be expanded tenfold to accommodate.

at the start of the world it would make things much more turbulent then they will be. Over time people will be forced into places and factions.... then the world would end up a cluttered wasteland of empty plots....

well unless the map was expanded to adjust things.

Though it would mean the PvP people wanting to kill early world for the LOls would have plenty of targets....
