It was mentioned it wouldn't do anything initially, it's just there for the future.

What it should do is work as a sort of "mental constitution". Like when you're in combat and people bring bards singing terrifying music, high willpower would reduce the penalties those songs give you. And when it's winter and you don't have the proper gear to handle the temperature, high will would make you last longer before starting to receive wounds and have a mental breakdown.


Seriously, though, I wish psyche and willpower become mental attack and defense stats for future combat moves aimed at seers, druids and musicians. Combat needs a new dimension.

If not, Will should at least make you recover faster from knockdowns.

The idea of mental distress playing a role in a hearthlings life sounds very appealing if its not done like Salem.
Could be handled in a similar way as wounds but rather than having an effect on HP it would effect INT or possibly a more unique fun and not too destructive effect.

Playing certain melodies on the instruments would soothe your mind. Similar effects with alcohol, tobacco, hemp.
I imagine it should also go into the positives as not just become another thing that you have to deal with but are encouraged to take part in.
Positive mental health could give bonuses or interesting effects. This could utilize the happiness bar that used to exist in old Haven.

In addition to this I think wound system is also overly negative. You should be able to boost the condition of your body with some kind of remedies. I think that part is important for new mechanics. Being good at it should reward your efforts.

as it is its a vary vague state, so its use will be worse then Psy till its 100% defined, oddly enough past the nidbain comment ect... when you say will... there is tons of possable uses, from magic to just having th Force of Will to get threw something.

So now we have like 3 attributes responsible of magic: INT, Will and Psyche.

Anyways... Will sounds kind of stupid, like "I am eating food to increase my will" <--- :roll:

Some of you mentioned bards, I will :| not believe that any sane player can leave his sword for a music instrument.
