Game is way too carebear now

So I useto hardcore play old HnH.. My friends ditched the last world before I got to really try new haven out much. But we started up again this world and realized the game has gone downhill a ton on the carebear scale.

The whole outlaw defubb crap takes away the majority of the fun HnH was. I cant even nomad around anymore cuz I cant log out. If the person you are trying to steal from / attack / ect isnt your direct neighbor its not worth wasting your time on because you have to go log out in your base every time, which is just a massive time sink.

The reason this is so bad is because with a big world and small player base, the person you are interacting with can be over an hour boat ride away from your base. And you could boat over and they arnt even logged on, ect. Having to go log out at your base isnt an option.

And I originally quit/took my last extended break from haven back when the player base was too low to have fun anymore because looking around for anything took too much time already and got boring. Now even if there are players, its not worth doing. So the average time spent to fun had is even lower then before.

Legit how can you haev any conflict with someone who isnt your neighbor anymore? Unless theres something I'm missing, to siege someone a distance away would completely suck, having to come back every time you need to do something because you cant log there. Which could be an hour / half hour to come back. For possibly no action at all.

I'm curious as to Jorb and Loftars opinion on this. The game isnt what it useto be on the hardcore scale. This is massive carebear. And every hardcore game seems to be going in the same make the open pvp players life suck direction. Which was the main reason a lot of us came to this game in the first place.

Morale of the story, I'm pretty disappointed that the most hardcore game I've played is no longer the most hardcore. Rip haven, you will be remembered.

I agree, I rejoined the game after a break of a few years. When i came back i loved a lot of the improvements and was super stoked at how far the game had come so i verified and subbed. But with all of the awesomeness added i discovered a few new features that took away from what i liked about the game so much. It seems they added many more penalties for "criminals" such as taking hit points with every scent, and not being able to log out or teleport to hearth. I think its the features like those that take away from the wars, and raiding with rivals that made this game so hardcore and awesome.

The game direction is good, to put it simply;

Lets imagine power as wealth, and older haven has massive inequality. You are part of the top 1% power, I get it you are used to killing and have fun your way because the tax are easy on you and heavy on others, especially to middle and poor power people. The thing is though if you do that long term the economy (active players) are going to take a hit because only 1% will stick. Now we are going the right way so that the economy can grow and eventually make everything sustainable in the long run.

What good is a super hardcore game without no players? Might as well daydream or imagine instead of playing a game with dead population.

They should really make crime have no repercussion. You should be able to go out and murder people and then instantly hearth back to your brick walled vault.

and yet past the past few days I have a concussion that will mess with me for days. In the past even last world I possibly would have been killed, redhanded dont matter when they dont care.

The game is still grim and gritty, but not in the kill all noobs and decorate a swamp with there dead bodies type. Yes you can but it takes a little mroe work then just slopply doing it.

Oddly enough as I heard someone run by as I was writing this post lol.

Exactly, it's harder for him to have fun and play now so the game is clearly more hardcore for the hardcore lovers.

Its not my fault the game was too hardcore for bads. And with the stat caps and hunger modifiers and stuff it makes that "1%" a lot worse. Cuz the worse players with less food and stuff get more from it, that kind of thing. And you dont have 1k str and UA guys anymore who a nub could never dream of competing with.

The thing your missing is that a hardcore game minus the hardcore just becomes a bad version of other non hardcore mmo's, but still with a joke player base compared to them. It doesnt matter if the game gets population when its not the same game anymore.

And a nice big population and economy of carebears sitting in walls sounds pretty boring. And when people get bored they quit, just like when they get killed. Games need action, which this game has significantly worse then before.

Exactly, it's harder for him to have fun and play now so the game is clearly more hardcore for the hardcore lovers.

Thats a little thing I like to call tedious, not hardcore. Theres a difference.
