Played Salem first, was then showed ye olde Haven which I at the time thought was a bit behind development wise compared to Salem's end game content management and general complexity, stuck with Salem for a bit, then Jorb & Loftar took it to up to 11! So here I am experiencing all there is to experience in the new, historically older world.

I was reading an article in www.gamesajare.com and someone compared that game with haven. He wanted people for a comunity of spanish players. I wasnt registered, so I tried it by myself. I got a bit confused the first 3 days with the normal client with a tiny screen, and also the third day world 5 ended and I was like "where is my char??" And then "where are the villages and buildings???".

Saw a forum post on an old space MMO called Shores of Hazeron. Decided to try it out, but I wasn't too interested until I randomly stumbled on a village and they let me join them.

I think I was googleing hardcore sandbox survival games, and the permadeath and culture building talk on the about page are what highlighted it from the others and made me stay.
I was disappointed to find out it was neither hardcore, nor survival or, at the time, permadeath, but I'm still here because it's still different from mainstream nonsense.

German poker forum in 2010 when I was looking for some distraction during a downswing. Made me quit poker which probably led to me actually finishing university faster :P HnH has magical powers I tell you.

...also stole a ton of time of my life, but meh.

A friend who had played since the beginning, it took him over a year to persuade me, I admit I thought it looked rubbish, used to just humour him and didn't bother even trying it. At that time I was still mainly playing console games and thought it was all about the graphics, FF style, now I know better. :)

During a visit one evening he had to leave his pc to deal with another visitor and gave me the controls to 'play around' with his char for 5 minutes .... 3 hrs later he managed to prise my fingers off of the mouse and the next morning he was round mine setting it up. :D

Since then it has become my all time favourite game and now I'm in the same position as him in that I try to persuade almost everyone I meet to give it a go, so far the only taker that I know of is a taxi driver who, btw, is now also hooked. :D

Sadly the friend who introduced me has long since abandoned Haven, he played up until w6 and then got annoyed at the state of the game and devs lack of interest at that time and gave it up. I've tried to persuade him to come back and give it a go but like a lot of ppl who got disappointed and left he now refuses to even talk about Haven let alone revisit it, he calls it abandon ware and me a mug for still being here. :(

I was looking for a game like Mind Craft, but free and so on. This game was one of the best ones that came up with that search.

Another gaming friend lured me here. I got interested .. and he quit !.. puttered about. Longfeather stalked me and invited me to his new village and I never looked back since (end of world 6). Still trying to recruit people. No takers :(

By the way all you that played world 6 and left me ruins of civilization to explore. Thank You. I really liked to study village layouts and test your crops :)
