There is a player made market - Samarquand Community Market - http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=54161
Or you can send messages to people posting other trades, negociate and arrange a meet-up.
Carefull, as everything in this game, trading can get you killed - on the way to the market (note that once inside the Community Market you should be safe for any harm), on the way to the meeting spot, or just plain killed by a malevolent trader. The latter should not be the case with current traders, as they have a long going reputation, but still you should check other player reviews before agreeing to a face to face meeting.
The main problem for you is having something to offer at your end of the trade. Some ropes and twigs is sure thing that can't get you anything, as they posess no value to even an average hermit. My advice is to raid as many anthills as you can. Lure the ants far away from the anthills - preferably with a boat, then return quick back and loot it while undefended. Ant queens and ant emperesses are always in demand and you can sell them for a decent value. Raise your survival to at least 10 before doing so, or no one will buy your quality 1 ants.
As for the rest - play the game, learn the game, read the wiki http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/
If you do it right you will soon start mining, hunting, etc. and craft your own stuff
