Help me clean my laptop

Postby NOOBY93 » Mon Mar 13, 2017 5:49 pm

Does anyone know a good way to clean dust out of my ventilation system in my laptop without paying a ridiculous amount of money for a professional? I can do that too, but looking for opinions on the DIY option.

This.
Canned air rocks in a normal computer but Im not very sure about laptops. If you use it where the fan is, wich is very small you will distribute all the dirt and dust insidr the laptop.
Also it depends on the time you've used your laptop, if you smoke or have cats etc as variables to know how many shit you will find there. Ive opened several laptops and with time you tend to find a inch width plug of dust and shit where thr fan is. Just imagine distributing that, wich prolly you wont be able with eficience, with an air canned machine.
You better open it with care, remember where every screw goes (normally there is like one million in diferent sizes) and take advantadge of opening the laptop to place a bit of cooling paste in the processor.

this is my best bet, however im afraid of fucking something up, its a pretty expensive laptop so i wanna know the safest way to do this, where the reward highly outweighs the risk, otherwise I'll just pay someone to do it

Then pay someone. In my experience best companies use to have very well distributed hardware and they are easier to open and clean. Maybe you are lucky and the fan is very easy yo reach. Try checking youtube to see if its easy, there is a lot of tutorials out there.

i disassembled my laptop 2 times this month, 1 time cleaned it(+ thermal paste replace) out and other time replaced hdd with ssd. I was scard too at first, because if i would fuck up i would have to kms and use my old laptop. Just put up a video on how to disassemble your laptop on some other device(theres a video for like every laptop model on youtube on how to do that) and watch out from touching the motherboard, if you do touch it, be careful of static electricity because it can fuck up your shit real bad
