Found a key

I just picked up a key with a name included in the label; from some wreckage (on the beach). I'm not overly familiar with keys yet, but it gives what looks like a master key description.
If this belongs to anyone, let me know what the name is and we'll work out how to return it to you.

First, let me say it was nice for you to search for a former thread, but for something like this, it would be appropriate to just make a new thread. There really isn't any "catch all" lost and found thread here as most objects decay or are destroyed making odds of them being found again less than likely. I split the post off to a new thread for this reason.

Now, this is most likely someone deliberately threw their old, useless keys away into the water. This means the item goes into a global pool of items that can be fished up or found in trash piles on sandy beeches.

Of course, it is possible someone died and the body decayed on the water or someone got raided and the keys are stolen, but most incidents with this are the first case.
