Discussion of the Big Thing

Postby Adder1234 » Sat Dec 02, 2017 12:20 am

Alright so after being disqualified from the guessing contest for double posting, I've decided to make a thread here so as to help others avoid the same mistake. This thread has nothing to do with the contest and is just for discussing and sharing ideas. If this somehow breaks the rules of the contest then I don't mind if it gets deleted.

Alright, so to get the ball rolling, I think that the weird looking log pile is actually a giant tree root for the world tree Yggdrasil and the gate made from tree branches allows us access to other worlds/dungeons. I also think that druidic lore will play some part in it and we might even get an actual purpose for dryads.

I don't think it's that big a thing, which goes with what the devs have said about it inevitably being a disappointment. I have been wrong in the past.

:)

I do also think it is going to have some connection to magic and lore, the mystery structure in this wks update picture also looks like a doorway to me. I think they will lead to different (small) areas where you can obtain items to be used for some form of magic. Possibly there will be related quests to gain entry and I daresay there will be elements of danger within, like some creature you will need to defeat to obtain said items.

The reason I think the thing everyone is calling a log pile is actually another door is ...

Image

the centre part being a door, surrounded by what looks like some kind of rock or bone. I think the 'doorways' will possibly be biome connected, this one in the mountains, the first one in the forest.

The forest one leads to a fairy realm with druids that give items, pretty flowers with healing properties, fairy rings, ponds with lilies and magical fish, animals that will befriend you and ofc rainbows & unicorns.

:D

Yeah, I did wonder that too after what Jorb said to Kaios, but doors have to lead somewhere ... :)

Guys I have a theory. My theory is that Granger doesn't actually know himself what the pictures contain.

I think the gate is mostly decorative, although for all I know it could be imbued with some mystical defensive capability putting it on par with other defences. Or maybe cattle can eat the leaves as forage ikd. I don't think it goes anywhere except to the other side of the gate.

The second object is definitely a pile of something. I'm going to propose that it may be scalable stockpiles, that is individual stockpiles that can get very, very big.

That theory is correct, I have my theories about what it'll be but I'm not sure.
Thought it could be a fun thing to fuel the speculation a bit by offering some spare tokens I have as a prize for a little forum game... so I did.

As I'll simply be going through the game topic after the curtain has been lifted to pick the winners, there is no need to know in advance. Please all, feel free to join the game (just keep the rules of it in mind to avoid disqualification).

I'm not chasing the prize myself, only seeking to provoke discussion.
