ohh my very interesting

some of the biggest discoverys were accidents, thay have been unable to reproduce it after thoses few events

theres a team working on it i guess thay have not gotten too far into it yet

the machine has been "lost" prob is in mexico but thay have stimatics and are working to rebuild it in some form

ive heard my brother talking about stuff like this in his line of work sometimes where its hard to grab a high voltage line due to the opposing fields between the aircraft and the line itself

Interesting and I believe it though Id never try to replicate it. Theres a lot we have to learn.

Unfortunately application of this technology are fairly limited and novel until they can be projected forward from a generator and not contained within it. Well, I'm a liar a little but because actually iirc one form of fusion generator manipulates magnetic fields to feed in, tap off and contain the fusion plasma. Related.

Believe that's the tokamek, yes? Been a while since I've read up on fusion as an energy source. Doesn't seem to come up much in mainstream news the last decade or two since the whole "cold fusion" thing of the 90s.

If I recall the old information correctly, we're basically looking towards materials sciences now to create something that can manipulate EM fields more efficiently, or other ways to keep super-heated plasma from destroying the reactor core, and effective means of channeling off the heat (steam turbines) or directly capturing the released energy. The last time I checked on it, fusion generators still needed an outside energy source to remain stable (was several years ago).

To go back to the electrostatic field, though... interesting thing to see if this can ever be reliably reproduced is what the exact boundaries of the properties are regarding sound, electrical, light, and such; how it interacts with conductors (will they ground out the field?); etc. How much force can it absorb (will it stop a bullet, how big/how much inertia to push through)?
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

i dont know alot on this stuff i just find it overwelmingly interesting

at 1st my mind went to space hanger ports but thats impossiable with this "ion air system" (which by the way is terriable for eviroment as it produces ozone)

then i hunted down a company call telstra in aussieland that is trying to make it detect who enters a building and block those it dont reconize which does sound cool and usefull, but i cant find anything legit from it just a mention in a pyhsics forums

then i looked into containing plasma with it but i keep getting back to here https://www.bnl.gov/bnlweb/pubaf/pr/200 ... 21101b.htm

Hershcovitch likens the plasma window to the “force field window” in the shuttle bay area of the Starship Enterprise in Star Trek. The “force field” separates atmospheric pressure in the Enterprise from the vacuum in outer space. In the plasma window, hot ionized gas particles are trapped by electric and magnetic fields. The particles, like any gas, exert pressure, which prevents air from rushing into the vacuum chamber housing the electron gun.

The plasma window is about 40 times as hot as the air at room temperature. This intense heat makes the ionized atoms and molecules move around faster and collide more often with air molecules, thus stopping most of them when they try to cross the plasma window. The electron beams can still pass through it unharmed, making it a viable non-vacuum electron-beam welding device.

Wouldn't this also greatly heat up the air that's being contained?

if you mean the plasma window yes it would have too but if nothing/ air can't pass throu then its not transfering its heat to anything? now im not sure but it works cause the atoms are so hot and moving so fast nothing can pass with out collison so thay have to be transfering heat lol

The physical properties of the plasma window vary depending on application. The initial patent cited temperatures around 15,000 K (14,700 °C; 26,500 °F).

but the ion air system (its what iv deciced to call it) nothing was mentions on heat

(iv been reasearching it alot past few days and i still dont know shit)
