Grave Cairn - if ancestor has died by drowning in a river.

Postby husky999 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 5:45 am

Hi all,

I had accident, where my heartling, after few years, died because of my stipidity. I'v jumped to wather from cliff, and did not swim to coast, where result of this was die... I had builded Grave Cairn, but I havent my corpses to put in to it.
Question: There is possible to take this benefit in another way, without corpses or skull?

Best regards
Ancestor: Uland
Alt: Malcom

I think the only way to do it without the body is with a State Funeral. It's a realm skill that can be used at the cost of realm authority.
Also, your corpse will stay on the water for a little while after drowning, perhaps the body is still there on the water?

If the body isn't there, someone took it. If you die of drowning, your body will still be floating above water. Otherwise, you can do a State Funeral, and there was something to do with numen and the ancestors that also give back the stats of your ancestor whom drowned.
Total misplay.

I'd look for the body, just in case it's still there. Otherwise you could use an ancestral shrine, but it might or might not be worth the effort depending on how developed your character was.

I've died approximately two days ago, In first day I was there and there was no body:/ I have a shrine, but it's gives only temporary perks, e.g. for 40 numen you take all combat + agi and str from ancestor, but only for one game day. I haven't Village so I cant take Funreal:( Or I can?

Ehh, Heartlings knows dangerous of this world but sometimes were forgetting about simple water ^^

Regards!

Ps. I drowned between cliff withou a beach, and small island with cliff also. there is no heartlings much, and there is no possible to someone took my corpses

You can pick up corpses in the water if you're in a boat.

When you die to drowning, your body will float for a short while. Once it decays to a skeleton, it sinks. The body is gone.

Your options then are:

Talk to a realm, have a state funeral performed

Build an Ancestral Shrine, use it to generate Numen to perform the ritual "Lament the Departed" to regain lost stats.

If it's a young character, it's probably not worth the effort of either. You'll regain the lost stats back faster than the Numen needed or the cost of the realm authority.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
