Oh Haven you be such a cruel cruel mistress to me.

I hate when things like this pop up. Specially in the wee hours of a morning of a day off. Haven you have always been cruel. Whether it be fates, my bitch of an Ex, bad timing, whatever you want to call it all it does is make me depressed. Okay enough of that let me get to the point.

I have only 3 days a week I can play. Games like H&H, Rust, Ark all not really able to enjoy them due to the fact for 4 days a week I am gone. So safety etc is no guarantee. Can't form a village cause I won't make progress or be there for clan mates. Don't want to join a village same reason. Don't want to solo I would never get anything done. But I can do ONE thing. While naked and with nothing in my bag I logged in and was teleported to wander the forest. In this time I took down a few wrecking balls people had set up. Made some clothes. Got enough food to fill energy. Oh and found a claim someone partially raided but still had PLENTY of Q190-270 gear in.

WHY HAVEN? WHY give me a golden ticket like this when I have NO ability to maintain nor enjoy it?! I wont go into detail cause if it is only partially raided they will be back. Unless they are stupid. So I give it 50/50. I took a lot of generic gouda and upped my stats and took enough gear to fully equip myself minus weapons. IDK what to do with this knowledge. I can't tell anyone else where it is cause I don't know where I am. I can't hoard any of it cause I have no where to take it. I can't protect any of it cause I have no LP to make a claim and that is IF it stays for the period it needs to become defended and IF they don't care about leaving scents.

Oh well such is the nature of H&H and I love to hate it.

As havens self appointed best wanderer.
Take a screenshot of your map and pm me.

Also I played for the last year only 1-2 days a week for a few hours. In that time I found I could so a lot.
It just takes along time to do anything.
My claim last for well over 30 days so not sure how you're not able to keep up with 3-4 days of playing.
WARNING! MY ENGISH SUCKS.

Its not so much I couldn't i just get frustrated with the slow progress. And in old H&H I did the solo thing several times with a similar schedule and kept getting raided and have to move and start over.

Shouldn't be a problem in current Haven. With the Visitor mechanic a roundpole fence is sufficient to make stealing your stuff at least require Vandalism, and with Claim Shields a palisade will require siege engines and a lot of time to break down. The only risk is getting mugged while walking around, but the damage that occurs from that is limited.

Furthermore, it's always been possible to just evade detection by for example living in a cave. People will only raid what they can see, and advanced players aren't going to check out every cave they come across.

Set up a Leanto, craft a crate (hell, even a wicker basket) and put it in there. Taking items from an active Leanto, even if not on a claim, is Theft. Furthermore, nobody actually bothers checking what people have stored in a Leanto; maybe there's a 0.1% chance you get decent loot, but 999 out of 1000 times it will be q5 berries and some rabbit meat. Not worth the effort, let alone the Theft scents. Bonus points if you make it look like a complete noob camp with just a campfire (without wood, of course), an empty drying rack, a quern and 2-3 wicker baskets. You can then set up a claim elsewhere, build your way up to having a small palisaded area, then move the goods there. Roads allow for near-instant travel to your destination should you be concerned about carrying goods to your new home.

This is the kind of shit that gets you killed. Don't interfere with other people's business if you want to be left alone.

lol I don't care in this world. I have said time and again for the rest of this world I am a nomad. I placed a claim over most of what was left. I plan to use up the resources here and move on to another place. Pissing off raiders as I go. If I get killed. Oh well. Move on. I fully expect to have died at least once before the next reset. Let me repeat that. I fully expect to have died at least once before reset. And I do not care. I already knew about the roundpole fence and lean to thing but I meant to keep and make this place functional. Its in Northern Kingdom which just fell/was heavy raided. So this area is not a place I would consider safe. So I plan to raise some hell and move on. Then maybe raise some more and move on. I wont do anything that leaves more then a tresspass scent so being only a minor untrackable annoyance makes it unlikely I will be hunted down.

That's always been the case, though. It takes nothing to put a hole in the fence, so don't bother putting in a gate. Just make a hole when you want out and patch it when you leave. Keeping a stockpile of sticks next to it makes it even simpler than in worlds past.

I care... I always care. If I get killed for some actions I took, that means I got under someone's skin enough for them to take time out of their normal activities to hunt me down. I relish in the death of hearthlings!!

I've always found it a major hassle and before the Visitor mechanic I always rushed to a palisade ASAP. Now that roundpole fences protect stuff properly, building a palisade has dropped a lot further down my list of priorities - it's something I do eventually when I have enough leather anyways, rather than something I produce leather ASAP for.

Visitor won't help as it's only triggered by walking through gates, not by breaking them - should someone be willing to leave scents for thievery that one certainly has no problem leaving a vandalism one when walking through your stickfence.

It definitely does make a difference; with the Visitor debuff, you need to commit Vandalism to even check if I have anything worth leaving Theft scents (and getting Red Handed/Outlaw) for. If you can just check out everything leaving only Trespassing scents you can decide to commit Theft based on that information, but you're less likely to do that if you can't tell whether I have only rabbit meat in my home or if I've got gold and silver (and most newbie-looking homes don't have anything of value).

Also consider that Vandalism is a much heavier crime than theft (scent lasts almost twice as long, I think Outlaw time is the same as the scent?). Still won't stop anyone who's already got the debuff and doesn't care, but at least it raises the barrier.
