Hearthling name

The thing that turned me off to h&h the last time I played wasn't death, but being unable to reuse my hearthling's name after death. How long does this last, is it forever?

Forever. Indicate that the next character is the next in the lineage in their name, or come up with something original.

If you really can't stand a different name, put a space after the name or something that's barely noticeable.

well your character died, and with it that name, though you can live on with Terranoia II, or _2, or Terranoiaa or whatever the hell you choose in your next character, as he is in fact the next legacy character to that one. If it bothers you this much though, you can change your presentation name to anything you want, because all that is, is the name you choose to tell people you are. So nobody would know anyways unless your character died again, and they found the skull. This is a pretty normal thing for those that do die. Just change the presentation name

Thanks, it's kind of a cool mechanic now that I know for sure. Quite final . I may have been more uncomfortable with not knowing for sure. I will come up with a convention for next time and make use of the presentation name feature.
