Who has played Xsyon?

It looked interesting, but when getting into it, it doesn't seem that good. You can't almost do anything, nothing is explained and its kinda meh, not worth $15 on steam. What about you guys, have you ever played it and had better experience with it?

Played for a few months at release and again recently following the steam release. They made a bunch of mistakes early in the development of the game and didn't fix them early enough. The result was that nobody had any timber because the first act of PvPers is to grief enemy factions resource spawns. The map became almost entirely devoid of trees at one point in time.

The interface has also always been unintuitive and clunky. Very few game aspects were understood by the community. While they had terraforming, and a complicated crafting system, the mechanics themselves were nothing revolutionary and were a less creative grindfest than there is to be found in Wurm online. When you combine this with the clunky and buggy combat/hunting system the game is a bit of a failure.

Now take into account that there has been no graphical updates since release, the game runs at a maximum resolution too small for most modern GPUs (maybe an exaggeration but close enough to truth) and it really isn't worth playing or paying for.

Promised map expansions to unlock fresh resources never arrived. Xyson is abandonware and has been pretty much since release.
Laying flat.
