Game? Or soical experiment. One hour. One life.

So this is an interesting thing. You spawn in and live one hour. You spawn as a baby and if you live 1 hour you die of old age.

Its a very simple wilderness survival with that limitation. So its a frantic eating, caring for babies, and trying to inch up the tech tree so the next generation can do the same. I figured it would be something this forum is into. It makes for some kind of funny moments as you frantically run around.

*Spawn in*
Mom names me.

"We are poor"
"we have baskets"
"and stones"
"and a stick"
*pop*
"You have a sister"
*she runs off*
"But she ran away"

I was fucking rolling omg XD

From what I heard from other players there are a lot of noobs as the game gains popularity and the learning curve has steepened due to some recent patch which resulted in frequent world resets. This makes it hard. For example with this female character I was the only one of about eight children of "hers" to survive, however I was male and there were no surviving females. "She" was very frustrated to have spent so much time on the camp only to have everyone die.

Still fun, just brutal in it's own way. Endlessly spawning as a rejected baby does cause me some emotional distress.

Its learning curve is pretty steep and its compounded by how fast pace it is. You don't have the luxury of just 'feeling' your way though it at a leisurely pace.

Can't be the lucky few both IRL and ingame!

Also @OP not everything is a fucking social experiment, can calling everything a social experiment just die already? It's a game with interesting mechanics, people play it for fun, what exactly is being experimented? What can one learn from this?

Sounds like a bad idea because of the multiplayer element. If other people don't act like they are supposed to, the quality of your gameplay drastically also decreases.

Reminds me of faery tale online though. Online game that you can play on browser. Every player borns as a baby, and other players have to take care of you in the first years.
I think one large drawback is that to spawn a character, you have to wait like 3 months in a queue, because only limited amount of babies are born to the game every day...

Yeah, it's come up before. Can't seem to find the thread, though. :(

It was mentioned in (yet another) thread about other "games like Haven."

edit: guess it was only a couple of other threads. The one I was thinking of was the "screenshots of other games" thread.
