The end of the Universe

Postby Jalpha » Sat Jul 21, 2018 9:19 am

There was some question raised about the end of the universe some time ago. Specifically on whether the Universe was expanding or contracting. From what I know the Big Crunch theory was debunked. This would seem to imply that the Universe will expand until even the black holes have evaporated away. The end of the Universe.

I have a theory that this is not the end at all. That there is an infinite vacuum of nothingness outside the Universe. That when any tiny piece of matter reaches a critical point of being torn at by that vacuum it will burst apart in a release of energy. That this will happen to a great deal of pieces of matter almost simultaneously across a vast area of space. And that the resulting explosion will form a new Universe.

Could we survive it?

No one really knows if such things could happen, or are happening right now. If somebody says something else, he is lying.

I don't think that there is a "vacuum" outside of the universe.
There is no space or time outside the universe, though it is constantly expanding.

The "universe" is a concept, so other people call universe everything that we are able to interact with ( but then have to implement the idea of multiverse )
- others more philosophically call universe everything there is. In that case there is nothing outside, and nothing, does not include vacuum

If you like alternatives there is also the holographic universe theory that ( if I understand what it says ) implies there could be something outside "our" universe.

Or just pick a religion and stop torturing your brain ¦] ¦]

How developed is this theory or are you just pulling it out of your ass?

It just needs you to flesh out the math magic to prove it NOOBY93. I heard you could add and subtract but were sometimes still struggling with mulitplication.

Ouch you took that personally. All I'm saying is, you can't say something not based on anything and call it a theory.

Just a rough joke between two trolls.

It seems logical to me that the absence of anything will pull at the something there is until it breaks. Maybe this is kindy logic and current theories state that there are complex quantum interactions at the boundaries of spacetime and only the delorian can save us. Do we have any physics majors here? Do they even teach this kind of thing in Universities?
