For some time now I have been considering creating my own content. The first site I went to was YouTube of course, being the most well known and popular video hosting website that I know of. Unfortunately someone seems to have made an absurd attempt to troll me by claiming my preferred (and very obscure) username. Oh well. Wikipedia quickly displayed a long list of alternatives. I chose BitChute, which utilises P2P technology. Some kind of torrent based video hosting operating within the framework of a browser page.
This suits me just fine. I'm not interested in monetisation, advertising or maintaining the status quo. I was considering straight out torrenting video content.
I am interested in the opinion of others regarding this kind of technology. Is it safe, user friendly etc? My primary concern was that relying on P2P, anyone with a poor internet connection may struggle to view content.
Is there anything out there which is better than YouTube?
