Very low perfomances and audio issues

So I just I jumped back into the game to take a look, perfomances dropped like crazy, also I started to have audiobuff problems. 12-20 fps MAX
If this is part of the rendering thing testing I can understand.
On my side, the only thing I remember I did recently was to update my gpu drivers cause they were very old and I needed the new version.
Just reporting that the game is in very bad shape for people that don't know anything and they are giving it a try right now.

Are you saying that the game, on the same system, went from acceptable performance to this for no obvious reason? That's quite strange.

Judging from the posted stats, it very much seems to be a GPU-side issue, so it could very well be related to updating your GPU drivers, even though it's less than obvious how. Is this some kind of dual-graphics system, so that rendering could have been switched over to the integrated GPU due to the driver update?

Yeah my game was always capped at 60 FPS ... the pc is a desktop, so the integrated card doesn't matter ... I mean the monitor is plugged into the gtx 970.

I suspect some kind of driver confusion, for sure. If you could run the :die console command, I'll get an error report that I can look at to see if there is any driver weirdness involved.

It is indeed using the nVidia driver, version 399.07. That's so weird. I'm not sure what to make of that. Could I bother you to reinstall an older version of the driver (there are several older versions available on nVidia's website), just to see if it is a driver regression or something else?

Yeah, as soon I have time, probably tomorrow ... I'll check all the settings and/or reinstall/downgrade. I'll let you know.

I've noticed audio cutting in and out constantly but it doesn't correspond with any graphical delay.

Have you tried whether the audiobuf command helps?
