Inktober: Haven Style

Postby snooboo » Tue Oct 02, 2018 4:44 am

Howdy! This October I set a challenge for myself: participate in Inktober with a Haven & Hearth topic for each day. :D Typically during Inktober, the participant draws a picture in pen each day. It's mostly a fun event for artists to practice their skills on a basic medium doing little stuff. Despite not being an artist, I wanted to participate and share my drawings with other hearthlings no matter what compliments or criticism. Throughout October, each day I will post my drawing of the day edited to this initial post. These won't follow the same rules as a typical Inktober in that I won't be using ink. I'll be creating these drawings digitally with minimal design and color.

I have a list of topics planned throughout the month and I invite other interested people to join me if this sounds fun for them. Send me a pm and I can send you the list.

Without further ado:

October 1st: Enter Man Stage Left
Image

October 2nd: Hunting the Mammoth
Image

October 3rd: Fishing the Big Fish
From here I kinda go to the black and white "classic" ink since I don't have much time during the day and I want to try and improve that aspect of my art. Image

October 4th: Sowing the Land
Image

October 5th: Truffle Time!
I had internet issues on this day so that is why this one was uploaded late.
Image

October 6th: Feasts!
Image

October 7th: Fight Club
This one has little in it. I mostly spent this day studying for an exam.
Image

October 8th: Silk Making, October 9th: Mining in the Deep, October 10th: Taming a Bull, October 11th: Foraging in the Plains
Life hit hard this week. I will still do the days but they will be more condensed until I catch up.
Image

October 12th: Making Biscuits, October 13th: Trading with Strangers, October 14th: Riding through the Mountains, October 15th: Managing Inventory
Image

October 16th: Local Wonders
I really enjoy the look of the Rock Crystal when it is ready to harvest. The brilliant pink against the stark landscape is very appealing. I tried some perspective in this drawing and as some may tell, it's not that good but I think I still learned from it and it was fun to at least try to get what I envisioned in my head. I would prefer if we could get more brilliant colors like the silk blue and rock crystal pink in some day-to-day objects but it makes sense that they are rare. It makes them more desirable.

October 17th: Buildng a Great Hall
Image

October 18th: Trudging through a Swamp
I kept some color in this one because it seemed too crowded without it.
Image

October 19th: Naked Swim
Image

October 20th: Talking with Trees
Image

October 21st: Milking the Maidens
Image

October 22nd: Helping Noobs
Image

October 23rd: Hat Botique

I always had a man crush on flame.
I wish he drew comics for haven again...
This kinda reminds me of his style when he was starting

I dont know if you already have ideas for the whole month, but if not, you should make one with a big ugly troll in it!

I'm running a bit behind in the posts since Uni hit hard the past week and I've been recovering from exhaustion. I plan to catch up on the drawings in a smaller form until I'm back on the right day.

Not very good at keeping up with this thread unfortunately. Posted a couple more classic inktober drawings. October is almost over thankfully. hehe
