Pot stocks may be hot for a while, and the hype alone might make it worth it, but remember, there are zero moats around this market. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to grow weeds, and the competitive edge of a particular company will be difficult to determine. There will be a lot of failed ventures in the market.

I know nothing about the company in question.

Very true i picked aurora cause thay follow an agressive expansion model and have more room to grow then tilray or canopy cause thay are focused on usa expansion which at momment is limited, and cronos the one stop shop for anything pot has too mich hype it scared me into only 10 stock but had to get some cause damn it had hype week or two ago

Its ture anyone can grow decent weed and not every company will survive but those who live will boom

Imho big tobacco companies will become big tobacco & weed companies and not much will change, maybe you will get some artisanal brands and stuff like that. BUT in the short time those stocks could make you some money.
https://strawpoll.com/xh2d3zr2 if you give a fuck about mining vote on this. Make mining great again! Bring back old supports.

In this case, the upside might be more in watching for potential M&A of the smaller corporations. Tobacco is a dying market and they're looking for places to expand. Juul has saved them for another part of a generation, I think, but it won't last long.

Yeah, they're good investments as long as you pay attention to the companies bottom line. Don't invest in a sinking ship. The US is looking to go legal nationwide... and if nothing else, hemp as a commercial crop is just a few years away here in the Midwest US.

only 50 licences were given out in canada to sell weed.
each licence can have 5 shops.
a company may own more then one licence.

make sure the company you invest in is one of the owners of these licences.

source: canadian who reads his own damn news.

I can assure you that buying stocks with a gambler's mentality is no better than buying lottery tickets, and is almost guaranteed to lose you money.

There are a couple of US companies coming up, too, but not sure any of them are publicly traded (yet) due to federal laws being in conflict with laws of several states. We have a really screwy legal system here when it comes to that... acting like it's still 1789 and each state is its own sovereign entity....

At least with stocks its easier to hedge your bets (assuming you have the portfolio size to do so). At any rate, I have to agree. Stocks are relatively easy to research and do due diligence.

Don't count on it. There's tons of companies that look like they're going to hit the moon and then blow up on the launch pad. If they're climbing, ride it to the top, and if they break the 220% or so mark, cash out half and reinvest elsewhere. let the other half ride it out. then if you lose that half, you may still be up overall. If it shoots even higher, great!!
