Rowboat sound + lag drives me crazy...

I know pretty well there is only SSD inside, no mechanical drives. But when it lags and I hear rowboat sound at the same time my mind still draws mental picture of heavy HDD activity like game is swapping a lot of data...

Am I the only one with that problem? Plz send help...

There are no technical issues apart from server lag during weekend. It's just combining lag with rowboat sound (I guess it is supposed to imitate tension between oars and rowlocks) makes me imagine mechanical HDD sounds when there are none...

Just cause you are running on an SSD doesn't mean your system doesn't have enough ram and using swap files. It'll just be faster and less noise.

Don't worry, I know what you're trying to say. I've never personally owned a PC that made any squeaking noises but I've worked with plenty, and the rowboat sound is so similar to drive noises. I can definitely see where the mental connection is being made.

You can turn down the volume in audio options tbqh

Left or right click the ground ingame and then type

:audiobuf 4096

Then press enter

You can also change the number to 2048 if your performance drops by a lot, but 4096 will definitely fix the audio lag

Nobody is complaining about lag at all guys, the assertion is that:

-the rowboat squeak sounds like a mechanical drive making distressing noises
-the game's online nature causes the occasional visual stutter
thus:
-the combination of eyes seeing stutter and ears hearing 'squeak' causes the trained brain to think "HORRIBLE HARDWARE MALFUNCTION", despite there being nothing wrong at all

Devs should add more peaceful music to the game to reduce the stress level of players.
