Thankful

Postby fatfunnyvalentine » Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:34 pm

I just want to say I'm really thankful this game exists.

I love games that center around like... homesteading and it's hard to find games that I can stick with that I can also afford. This game has farming, fishing, building, foraging and more and I'm completely in love with it.

I also appreciate that a lot of important stuff takes time to process - drying stuff on the racks, making leather, farming.. it might be annoying for a lot of people but I like that I have to wait, because it feels realistic but it's prevented me from burning out from the game - by not being able to sit on the game for 18 hours building and farming nonstop, I haven't become bored of it.

Thank you for existing and thanks to everyone else for supporting it so that it was here for me to have found it

Thanks for dropping in and being a part of this madness!

I was like this at first... and then I really got hooked and realize that I can do so much more.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Do not forget to also thank the developers with your card. Makes you look a lot more sincere ;)

Have you tried Minecraft? Whatever, give something to Jorbtar first, then try a MC server that uses McMMO. They do rock.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

Haha, I've already verified my account and bought that cowboy hat from the store :'D

Normally I wouldn't have but I really enjoy the game and verifying my account was worth it in more than just appreciating the developers.

Edit*

I have MineCraft but the blocky aesthetic gets boring and it's easy to burnout. I build a city and then I'm done for 2 years.

I own probably 90% of the sandbox survivals out there and a lot of them are easy to get bored of after a couple days because I get everything I need in one go.

Then make some replica in Starmade AFTER you get bored of this game. It will take years to get bored of HnH, but anyway, build something nice that has at least 1000 meters on one axis in StarMade. I bet you 10$ StarMade will feel really really lonely and frustrating, but it will never get you bored. That is a game sometimes you would love to rage-quit, but there will be nobody to hear your rage and even say "Kek!" to you. So you can only quit it, but it's not boring at all.

Always nice to see people enjoying this game. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and keep in mind there's a wiki :)

Fair warning: take every single thing you read on the wiki with a massive grain of salt, and test things for yourself.

There aren't enough people who actively update it for it to be even relatively up to date/accurate.

Wiki points you in the right direction, even if some details changed recently. The game mostly remained the one described in the wiki.

Audiosmurfs point is still fair, sometimes it is wrong.
But coming from a 2 years hiatus I'm positivly surprised over how much of all the new content was added so far.
The people working on the wiki are doing a good job.

Welcome to anxiety and paranoia forever! Hold on tight, it'll be a bumpy ride.

If there's one thing i can suggest it's memorize all the client shortcuts (Shift+LMB instant moves item to last opened container, Control+LMB instantly drops item, Shift+RMB while adding things like fuel to something like a smelter will automatically move the next item to your cursor, so you can spam and refuel things faster. Right click things on the minimap to interact with them, left click the minimap to move there, etc.) and look into grabbing a custom client. (I personally recommend Amber.)

Good luck, and stay safe.
Total misplay.
