Planting Pine Tree on Sand

Anyone know if I can plant a Pine Tree on sand?

Edit: Pine nor sandthron can not be planted on sand via a potter, despite being able to grow there naturally.

It's quite possible no one has considering you need forest soil for them to grow full speed and sand is a non-convertible tile type.
