That's at least what I suspect, given that stuff that I always see plenty seems to win a spontaneous vacation the moment I get a credo quest involving it.

That said, I just picked up two.

I've encountered this enough that I'm reasonably certain for added ~immersion~ the quests that you are on are taken into consideration when loading a grid with animals/forage items. Especially given that a system like that is exactly something that jorbtar would find ~immersive~

That's what I'm saying... "it might be true?" because something sure does seem screwy when you're on a credo or quest for a thing. For some of the quest targets, it's just hard to filter the data out of the noise because they're on that "rare" list.
