Animals in general kill FPS on any computer, as do things like thousand of crops with amber features like crop stages turned on. There is a rendering rewrite going on now for like 2+ years specifically to address FPS performance of the client.

That does seem like really low performance for what's rendered in that picture, check java version and classpath? Upgrade to 64 bit java maybe?Irgat35 wrote:Ardennesss wrote:I'd have to see the part of your village that's giving you an issue then, I wouldn't expect 30-40 without standing in like the middle of an army of animals with animations on.

The devs have been working on a solution to the problem for quite a while now (known as the "client rewrite", if you've seen the announcements they always mention that it's a WIP at the end).
Other than doing stuff like disabling animations and whatnot to alleviate the problem there's not much that can be done until that rewrite is complete.
Here's a link to some more info about the upcoming client rewrite: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=57359
