Winter Farming?

Postby Colton_M_Lewis » Thu Apr 09, 2020 12:18 am

I'm still pretty new to the world that is"Haven And Hearth" and I'm trying to make the "Primitive Casting-Rod" I checked the wiki about it and it says i need "Finer Plant Fiber" to get that i have to harvest either "Hemp" or "Flax". But in case you're not aware winter is upon us. is there any way at all to farm "Hemp" or "Flax" like in a pot or something???

you're kinda screwed until spring. best bet is to try to bum supplies off your neighbors if you know any of them

You can shear wool from wild goats/sheeps to make wool cloth. Just need clovers which you can get from clearing the snow away from a grassland area.

and you only have to find 6 clovers and 6 wild sheep

the goats will probably kick your ass before you have an opporunity to get close enough to shear them, don't recommend it

You can aggro goats, pull them to a cave entrance, go into the cave, wait for aggro to drop, go outside and feed them the clover as a relatively reliable way to shear them without much issue

It's tricky, but doable. The tricky part is getting one goat away from the herd aggro range.

They don't aggro in packs like wolves do

there is still mufflons (wild sheep) around, those are not aggressive. Remember to be as close as possible when applying the clover to apply it instantly.

Seems like last time I dealt with one, I got jumped by about 5 of them. There were 3 or so more, but they had wandered off out of the area. Maybe it's only if attacked, then? I just don't do much hunting, and only grind combat skills to deal with mine spawns.
