I notice it's a new world but there are 36 people playing. Is this a display bug? What is happening exactly?
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

The new world is set to arrive on April 2nd, so I guess the bots have stopped?

OH, now I know why the pop is the way it is.

That's a typical amount of players for it being so close to a new world, nothing different from other resets.

It would be interesting to know if its actually just stopped bots or actual decrease of real players.

There is no evidence that a long-term announcement would have the same or even a remotely similar effect. For an extreme example: If it were announced now that world 13 will be reset on April 2nd, 2022, are people going to refrain from joining world 13? There's a big difference between announcing 'everything you work on now will be lost in two weeks' and 'everything you work on now will be lost in about a year' - the latter is already a given anyways.

No, I'm waiting for a permanent world, or permanent characters. It might never happen, but I always check back once in a while just in case!
