PSA: Sleeping in a bed accelerates (negative) wound progress

Sleeping accelerates wound healing, but it also accelerates growing wounds (e.g. Adder Bite). If anyone's currently dying to the wonderful new Swamp Fever wound, know that resting in a bed will just make it grow faster. You might want to avoid resting with Swamp Fever.

It accelerates the course of all healing progression. Adder spikes up in damage, then lowers as part of the healing process. Sealfinger though doesn't grow exponentially while sleeping because it isn't "healing". Main point of avoiding bed is if you think you can find a cure or have the time to pump enough CON to survive.

Probably worth it for swamp fever in case they take mercy on people though.

This is false.

Healing while in a bed is dangerous because it causes wounds to be healed one at a time at the point you log on, rather than simultaneously. This means that if you have multiple wounds and some of them are healing while others are getting worse, the wounds that increase can be calculated before the wounds that decrease and you can temporarily reach zero hp and die, even though you end with net positive hp. If all of the wounds are healing then beds do accelerate the process, but if there's anything that can get worse (eg adder bite or infected sore) then a bed is a very bad idea.

Thank you for the heads-up on this! Also, it seemed last world a group of midges would bite once and move on... Now they are acting like wasps and repeatedly stinging. We have pines, cedar, junipers, sage.. some sort of smudging or other insect repellent concoction would not be remiss now.

It's always been a bit random. Seems like they were worse during w11 than they are currently.

As far as preventative measures for them... well, C&I is full of suggestions. Sometimes it takes someone tickling the dev muse just right to finally get a thing.
